Dwyer's Farmhouse

The Farmhouse. . .

Welcome

Come and stay in our beautiful old farmhouse -- built in the 1930s. The 3 bedroom house sleeps 6 comfortably with 2 queen beds and 2 single beds. But if your group finds itself even larger, there's also a double sofa bed plus a day bed in the summer kitchen.

Children are warmly welcomed with a supply of toys, puzzles, games and books! And if you are travelling with younger infants, there is also one travel crib on-site for your convenience.

You receive the key to the house. Rooms cannot be rented separately. So, along with the rooms, you'll enjoy the fully-equipped kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave / coffee maker and toaster) -- not to mention a propane BBQ on the side step. The TV in the living room provides A/V hook-ups along with local channels, and you'll have use of a private phone too during your stay.

Please check the full set of pictures in our album.

And we are open year round! True home comfort whether you are travelling for summer beauty, winter sport or whatever you can dream of in between.

King and Dolly

Our team of Perchron work horses, named King and Dolly (brother & sister), would love to take time out of their busy schedule for you
  • Play with a barn cat..or kitten (or two!!).
  • Roast marshmallows on a bon fire (if conditions permit).
  • Day trips in the Ottawa Valley...So much to see and do - see our links page.
  • You're also a short ride from Calabogie Peaks or Mount Pakenham Ski Resorts.

But that's only the beginning. . .

Seriously fresh eggs

Now, when staying on a farm, it would be a shame to eat anything other than farm-fresh food. So you can start each day by feeding the hens (if you like), and then gathering the fresh brown eggs for breakfast... each day!

When was the last time you had eggs so fresh, they were layed just 75 feet from your door that morning? Better yet, when was the first time? (here's Seth at the coop - with your door in behind him)

And of course you can also help yourself to the fresh produce from the garden: beans, peas, onions, tomatoes, corn... you can even dig up your own red-skinned potatoes!! MMMM!!! (in season during the summer months of July, August and September).

And if you're still in the picking mood, then by all means, take a refreshing leisurely stroll through the fields and pick some wild flowers -- there's 160 acres to choose from! Of course, you are on vacation... so simply sit back, relax and watch us farm the land. We cut, rake and bale forage hay in June and July. The beef cattle enjoy the second cut in late summer / early fall. (But if you think you'd like to get your hands dirty, i'm sure Terry will not reject the help. There's real satisfaction in a hard day's work)
